SUZUKI EARNS 2010 AUTOPACIFIC IDEAL VEHICLE AWARDS FOR ALL-NEW KIZASHI
Kizashi continues to exceed owners’ expectations, named top-rated midsize and overall car in survey
BREA, Calif. ,July 20, 2010 – Two months after the 2010 Kizashi was awarded the top three spots in AutoPacific’s 14th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA), Suzuki’s all-new sport sedan was recognized as the top-rated car in the automotive research and consulting firm’s 2010 Ideal Vehicle Awards (IVA). The IVA’s are based on more than 42,000 surveys completed by owners of new 2010 model year cars and light trucks across 15 specific areas related to a vehicle’s attributes ranging from exterior styling to power and acceleration. The Kizashi scored 79 points above the industry average to place first among all 2010 model year cars in AutoPacific’s survey.
“This award is indicative of the positive response we’ve received from our owners since the launch of the all-new Kizashi,”
said Koichi Suzuki, executive vice president of American Suzuki Automotive Operations.
“The Kizashi is representative of Suzuki’s full lineup of cars and SUVs, and we’re thrilled our new flagship vehicle is helping us get the word out.”
The Kizashi is Suzuki’s most significant entry to date in the competitive midsize sedan segment. With its Eurocentric handling, high level of standard content and a starting price of under $20,000, Suzuki’s new sport sedan is resonating with an audience looking for entry-level luxury without the near-luxury price point; in short, premium without the premium. Propelled by a four cylinder, 2.4-liter engine producing 185 horsepower, and connected to a six-speed manual or optional CVT (180 horsepower), the Kizashi builds on the showroom success enjoyed by the five-door SX4 Crossover AWD – America’s least expensive all-wheel-drive vehicle – and the Grand Vitara compact SUV.
