Ward’s AutoWorld has named the Subaru’s FA20 2-liter 4-cylinder Boxer engine a winner of the 2013 Ward’s “10 Best Engines” award.
Powering two vehicles that are on the Car and Driver Magazine’s “10Best Car” of the 2013 list – the Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S, the “FA20” Boxer engine is compact, lightweight and has a low-center of-gravity. Combining with Toyota’s “4-DS” direct injection and port injection technology, the engine produces 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb.-ft of torque at 6400-6600 rpm.
