Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV Made North American Debut in Chicago

To showcase the new design language and future technology at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Mitsubishi has given North American debut to the Concept GC-PHEV, which made it global debut in late 2013 at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Categorized as a full-size SUV, the Concept GC-PHEV previews new Mitsubishi’s “bold, muscular” design styling. Housed by the powerful exterior composition is a powerful supercharged V-6 gas-powered engine and a lightweight, compacted electric motor. This combined drivetrain is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission to produce 335 horsepower.
The Concept GC-PHEV rides on an all-wheel drive system called “Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC)” which, according to Mitsubishi, offers “the highest degree of safety, tractability and off-road performance”
The Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV features an array of technologies, which Mitsubishi is working to integrate into production vehicles, including the connected car technology called “Tactical Table”, AR Windshield, and Pedestrian Collision Mitigating Auto-braking, Rearward Blind Spot Vehicle Warning, Unintentional Vehicle Move Off Control, Driver Monitor and more.
