Mazda MX-5 Facelift Officially Launched in Japan

Press Release : 2013 Mazda MX-5 Facelift Launched in Japan

Following the leaked photos of the Mazda MX-5 facelift a few days ago, Mazda today announced the launch of the upgraded Mazda MX-5 in Japan (known as Mazda Roadster in Japanese market).

The 2013 Mazda MX-5 facelift, most likely will be unveiled later this year, features a redesigned more aggressive front which includes a new front bumper, front grille, front chin spoiler and new fog lights.

Interior changes are minimal.  It has additional new colors, Glossy Dark Gray for panel and steering wheel.  Seats are now available in new tan leather, black fabric and a combination of Alcantara and black leather materials.

Performance wise, there are several enhancements for the MX-5, which include enhancement for acceleration control on MT models and enhancement for braking control.

In addition, the Mazda MX-5 also features the newly developed “active bonnet”, which helps absorb the force of impact and lessen the severity of head injuries in collisions involving pedestrians.

See “Press Release” for more details and prices (in Japanese Yen)
