Lexus Leads for the Second Consecutive Year In JD Power Initial Quality

Press Release : Lexus Earned Highest Ranking Nameplate in J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Initial Quality Study

U.S. private research firm, JD Power & Associates, Inc., published the results of the “2012 U.S. Automotive Initial Quality Study”. In initial quality rankings by brand, the Lexus is shining again to lead the second year in a row with 73 problems per 100 vehicles. The survey targeted customers, who purchase or lease a new car model in 2012, looked into problems after 90 days from the delivered date.

In the rankings, Lexus has maintained the top spot for two consecutive years.  The result of 73 problems per 100 vehicles is the same as in 2011.

Lexus vehicles also won three segment awards. The awards were handed to Lexus LS in large premium car segment with 50 problems, Lexus ES 350 in entry premium car segment with 69 problems and Lexus RX in midsize premium crossover SUV segment with 67 problems per 100 vehicles.
