Lexus IS F CCS-R Race Car Revealed for Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

Lexus today revealed the car that will race in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on July 8th, 2012. It is the Lexus IS F CCS-R (Club Circuit Sports Racer), which was featured at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show last year.

Painted in orange mica, the Lexus IS F CCS-R is outfitted with Carbon Fiber parts including hood, door handles, front fender, front spoiler, front canard, rear spoiler and ventilator. 

The structure has been toughened with a roll cage and the windows have been replaced with polycarbonate windows for high impact resistance.

The car overall weight is 693 lbs. lighter than the stock model thanks to lightweight doors, exterior and interior carbon fiber parts, lightweight bucket seats and other (see press release for specs).

Riding on 18-inch SSR wheels with Yokohama/ADVAN NEOVA A050 tires and teaming with an 8-speed AT, the Lexus IS F CCS-R race car is powered by a 5.0-L engine that generates 416 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 371 lb.-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm.
