Today 09/09/2011, Honda just issued a statement regarding its voluntarily recall of 310,773 Honda Pilot from 2009 through 2011 MY in the U.S. The initiation of this voluntary recall according to Honda is due to a manufacturing error on a small numbers of front seat belts, where the stitching connecting the lap section of the belt to the outboard anchor webbing may be incomplete or missing. The consequence of this defect would be, in a crash, causing the seat belts to possible be disconnected from the anchor webbing which would increase the risk of injury. Owners of the affected vehicles are encouraged to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer to have the vehicle’s seat belt inspected and potentially replaced the driver’s and/or front passenger’s seat belt.
