Honda announced the prototype version of the Micro Commuter Concept which was revealed last year at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.
Measuring ~57-inches in height, ~ 49 inches in width and ~98 inches in length, the “Micro Commuter Prototype” has an interior space for a driver and two children.
Powered by 15kWh lithium-ion battery with a charging time of less than three hours, the “Micro Commuter” is able to reach a top speed of almost 50 mph and a traveling range of approximate 37 miles.
Drivers can use their own tablet device to perform the vehicle’s basic functions such as reading meter display and navigation, using as backup camera display, controlling audio or charging of the battery.
Honda will start testing the “Micro Commuter Prototype” in Japan in 2013 to prove the vehicle’s capability in a variety of purposes.
