Subaru today announced a wide-ranging update to its 2017 BRZ with better handling, performance, and more aggressive exterior design along with new and made-standard features.

The 2017 Subaru BRZ will be more responsive and stable, yet comfort, thanks to updated coil springs and dampers along with a larger rear stabilizer rear bar. In addition, the 2017 BRZ will be more rigid due to the further reinforcements added to the strut tower braces, transmission cross-member plate and the rear wheel housings.  The previously called “Sport” mode will be changed to “Track” mode which provides better stability control and improved handling.

In addition to improved handling, the BRZ’s 2.0-liter BOXER engine gets a number of updates, including new valves, camshaft and cylinder heads, helping the engine run smoother with less friction.  A new aluminum intake manifold and redesigned exhaust manifold help increase air follow.  With all the updates, the engine (with 6-speed MT) produces 5 horsepower and 5 lb.-ft. of torque more than the 2016 model year, to 205 horsepower and 156 lb.-ft. of torque.

For those who hunger for more than what is already offered, Subaru also offers a performance package for 2017 BRZ. Available on the Limited model with the MT, the package include Brembo calipers and larger rotors, SACHS Performance shock absorbers and unique 17-inch black aluminum alloy wheels.

Exterior and interior charges are also substantial with front bumper cover being redesigned for a widened look and positioned lower for better aerodynamics.  LED headlights with DRL and LED taillights are standard on all models.  Other updates include matched-body-color fender garnish, and aluminum rear spoiler to name a few.  See Press Release for more exterior and interior updates.
