All-New 2014 Subaru Forester Overview

The all-new 2014 Subaru Forester has made official debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.  Entering it fourth generation, the Subaru Forester features a bolder exterior, more spacious interior, and enhanced performance with better fuel economy.

Having nearly the same footprint as the third generation model, the 2014 Forester is built on a new platform with a longer wheelbase; and even though with only 1.4” increase in vehicle length, it offers extended interior space that is enough room for five passengers with comfort.

The all-new 2014 Subaru Forester is powered by two choices of engines, a new 2.0-L turbocharged BOXER engine delivering 250 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft of torque, and a 2.5-L BOXER engine that produces 170 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft of torque.

Subaru Symmetrical AWD comes standard just like prior Forester models.  For an AWD vehicle, the 2014 Forester is projected to lead in fuel economy in its segment.  The 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5i model with an automatic transmission has estimated city/highway/combined fuel efficiency rated of 24/32/27 mpg.

The 2014 Subaru Forester will be offered in two models – 2.5i and 2.0XT.  The Forester 2.0XT is equipped with the new 250 horsepower 2.0-L BOXER engine as mentioned above.
