All-New 2013 Toyota RAV4 Overview and Preliminary Specifications

Today Toyota released official images, videos and preliminary specifications of the all-new RAV4 which will make its global debut in 2 days at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Featuring a new bold and sporty design, the all-new 2013 Toyota RAV4 offers equilibrium of performance and multifaceted qualities, including class-leading cargo capacity, attractive design, and a range of standard features [See video below for 2013 RAV4 highlights].

Emphasizing on the aerodynamics for the exterior design, Toyota gives the new RAV4 bolder and sportier look, yet it doesn’t compromise the inner side of the vehicle.  The new 2013 Toyota RAV4 features 60/40 split/fold second-row seats that tilt back some degrees to improve passenger comfort.  The deeper cargo zone is more spacious and easier to access than in the outgoing generation.

The all-new 2013 Toyota RAV4 is motorized by a 2.5-L 4-cyl engine which yields 176 horsepower and 172 lb.-ft of torque.  Coupling with the new 6-speed AT (replacing the previous 4-speed AT), the FWD 2013 RAV4 has fuel efficiency rated 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.  The AWD RAV4’s fuel economy is rated at 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway.

Measuring 179.9” long, 72.6” wide and 65.4” high, the fourth generation Toyota RAV4 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels or 18-inch wheels for limited models.

For 2013, the RAV4 will be offered in three well-appointed grades: LE, XLE and Limited.
