All-New 2009 Nissan 370Z’s Features

2009 Nissan 370Z
332 hp. The most powerful Z® ever.
In the all-new 370Z™ , the 4th generation of the legendary Nissan VQ V6 has been increased to 3.7 L for massive low-end power.
2009 Nissan 370Z
More bang for your intake buck.
A Nissan first, advanced Variable Event and Lift (VVEL) continuously tunes valve lift and timing for quicker response and a broader torque curve, while optimizing fuel economy and reducing emissions.
2009 Nissan 370Z
World’s first SynchroRev Match manual transmission.
World’s first SynchroRev Match manual transmission technology, available on the Sport Package, monitors the 6-speed’s clutch pedal operation, shift lever movement and vehicle speed. Shifting to a lower gear automatically “blips” the throttle to the ideal engine rpm for a smooth downshift. The Smoother shifts help keep the chassis balanced, meaning this transmission delivers handling and power.
2009 Nissan 370Z
An aggressive, ultra-quick automatic transmission.
A 7-speed automatic transmission gives you the best of a manual and an automatic – a wide spread of gearing for heart-pounding acceleration, while still providing improved efficiency and quiet cruising at higher speeds. And with the automatic’s steering wheel-mounted paddle sifters adding such precise shifting control, you’ll swear there should be a clutch pedal.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Lower. Wider. Lighter.
Precise control makes all the difference between wasting precious power and maximizing all the 370Z™ has to give. Shaving 7.7 mm off the overall height provides more responsive handling. A wider track further enhances handling. And cutting 67.8 mm from the overall length improves maneuverability and, ultimately, performance.
2009 Nissan 370Z
50/50 dynamic balance in the curves.
A nearly 50/50 dynamic weight balance achieved at the precise moment the driver accelerates out of the corner helps establish the 370Z™ ‘s extremely precise handling and unique feel. To achieve better acceleration under load, the Nissan engineers have set the static ratio at 53 front/47 rear.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Richly-crafted. Driver-obsessed: Information Layer.
The 370Z™ employs a three-layer design philosophy to make you feel completely connected the instant you sit down. From the Information Layer, you see everything at a glance: the windshield pillar has been minimized to improved outward vision in corners, and oval steering wheel with large gauges enhances viewing and gauges that adjust with the steering column optimize the view.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Richly-crafted. Driver obsessed: Operation Layer.
At the Operation Layer, everything is easily reached and operated: the center console controls are shaped to be easily identifiable by touch, the low center armrest cover facilitates shifting, and the “kidney-shaped” steering wheel rim fits your hands to connect you directly to the 370Z™.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Richly-crafted. Driver-obsessed: Holding Layer.
The Holding Layer helps hold you in place during spirited driving with anti-slip material on the seat cushions and integrated knee pads on both sides of the center console. A uniquely bolstered driver’s seat provides you enhanced support.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Smart engineering for added quickness
To harness all 332 hp. Nissan engineers improved the design and material composites for key rotating components. The available 19″ RAYS® super-lightweight forged alloy wheels are nearly 20% lighter than those on the previous generation Z. And the reduced rotating mass on the lighter, incredibly strong carbon-fiber composite driveshaft helps the engine rev more quickly.
2009 Nissan 370Z
A stiffer chassis for more road forgiveness.
The suspension reacts even quicker to your input and the road thanks to the added stiffness that comes from an under-hood 3-point strut tower brace and an underbody V-brace. The 370Z™’s front suspension now uses even stronger, yet lightweight aluminum components for increased responsiveness and feel.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Zero-lift aerodynamics.
All Z® models feature zero front lift. And if you’re enthusiast seeking added performance, you can choose the Sport Package that includes a lower front chin spoiler and rear spoiler for zero rear lift.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Bigger brakes. Better Braking.
Balance doesn’t just apply to cornering – the more power you have, the better braking you need. That’s why the most powerful Z® ever has available 14″ front rotors – the largest brakes ever offered on a Z® with the gripping power of 4-piston front calipers. Purpose-designed ducting helps to reduce fade and provide predictable and precise stopping power.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Touch-screen, voice-activated traffic control.
Navigate through congested areas easier with available touch-screen, voice-activated Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System. [1] Its advanced XM NavTraffic® [2] feature displays color-coded, real-time traffic advisories to help you steer clear of the gridlock.
2009 Nissan 370Z
Music Box™. One hard drive. Endless joy.
The available 9.3 GB Music Box™ hard drive can store up to 2,900 songs, so you can download your songs to the hard drive and keep your CDs back at home. This system also organizes your collection by mood, artist, and song title for easy access and endless entertainment. For even more choices, the system offers the capability of playing MP3s form a CompactFlash® card.
