The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser gets a whole new look with major exterior and interior design, but all these changes are outshone by the “Toyota Safety Send P” system which is, for the first time, featured on the Land Cruiser 2016 model year.

The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser gets a whole new look from the A-pillar frontward.  The new design signature of the full-size SUV is underlined with the bumper, grille, projector-beam LED low and high beam headlights, headlight cleaners along with integrated Land Cruiser emblem.

The new design signature is also can be seen from the rear as a result of a new bumper, new taillights with light-tube design and LED brake lights and a new full-length chrome molding, installed horizontally across the rear.  The chrome molding is also placed on the sides of the car. The rear and side chrome moldings are both imprinted with Land Cruiser logo.

Riding on new design 18-inch alloy wheels, the 2016 Land Cruiser is powered by the same V8 5.7-L engine that generates 381 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,600 rpm, with 90-percent of peak torque at 2,200 rpm.  The engine is now teamed with the 8-speed automatic transmission as opposed to the 6-speed one in the previous model year.  The fuel efficiency for the 2016 Land Cruiser continues at 13 city/18 highway/15 combined mpg.

The most noteworthy feature the 2016 Land Cruiser gains that overshadows other changes is the introduction of the new Toyota Safety Send-P system which includes Frontal Collision Avoidance, Frontal Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Alert, Auto High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

For the first time in the model’s history, the 2016 Land Cruiser is equipped with a safety technology that helps avoid collisions or diminish the impact force during collisions, in some situations, helps save pedestrians from collision.  Additionally, the 2016 Land Cruiser is equipped with the new Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert to help the driver avoid hazards

The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser is the first in the model’s history equipped with technology designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions and, under certain circumstances, help protect pedestrians in a collision.  The new Toyota Safety Sense-P system includes Frontal Collision Avoidance, at speeds below 24 mph (including pedestrian protection); Frontal Collision Mitigation (also for speeds below 24 mph); Lane Departure Alert; Auto High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Additionally, the 2016 Land Cruiser can help the driver avoid hazards with the new Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. All the new driver-assist systems come standard. A backup camera is also standard, and also useful for hitching a trailer.
