Refreshed 2016 Honda Accord

The refreshed 2016 Accord will get major upgrades to technology and features, making it the “most high-tech Accord ever”, Honda said when they introduced the vehicle in Silicon Valley last week.

When it goes on sale sometime next month, the 2016 Honda Accord is one of the first consumer cars to feature both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, the technologies that allow seamless smartphone integration and offer an array of new useful functions and features.  Accommodating these new added features is a new 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen which is paired with an upper 7.7-inch high-resolution display screen and steering wheel-mounted controls.

All models in the 2016 Accord lineup will feature front and rear parking sensors, a standard Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and Expanded View Driver’s Mirror.  Especially for the first time, 2016 Honda Accord Touring will be equipped with new auto high-beam headlights that improve visibility when driving at night by defaulting to the high-beam setting and automatically changing to low beams when an oncoming vehicle is detected.

In addition to the standardly equipped technologies, there’s also available Honda Sensing™, the suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies which include Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Along with new technologies and features, both 2016 Accord Sedan and Coupe are also given new styling which is visible at the front and rear.  Restyled parts at the front include a revised bumper fascia, a more expressive grille, and a new hood with more defined character lines.  At the rear, the 2016 Accord gets a redesigned rear bumper and taillights.

Riding on redesigned wheels, the 2016 Honda Accord will continue to be powered by two engines – the 2.4-L 4-cyliner that produces 185 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque, and the 3.5-L V-6 engine that generates 278 horsepower and 252 lb.-ft. of torque.

See “Press Release” for more details on upgraded features.
