Toyota today unveiled at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show the redesigned 2014 Tundra, which has new exterior and all-new interior design that according Toyota, were inspired by customer feedback asking for a more chiseled exterior and refined interior.
Exterior, the 2014 Tundra features an all-new front design with a larger front fascia with a bolder and taller chrome grille along with three-piece design lower bumpers. The fenders and wheel wells are now squarer, which give the new Tundra a wide and sturdy stance. At the rear, the tail gate is integrated with a spoiler helping with fuel efficiency. The rear bumper also has a three-piece design just like the front bumper, which helps lower replacement costs.
The 2014 Toyota Tundra comes with choices of three different engines. Offered on the Tundra Regular and Double Cab models, the 4.0-L V6 engine produces 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. Other available engines are the 4.6-L V8 engine generating 310 horsepower and 327 lb-ft of torque, and the 5.7-L V8 engine producing 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque.
Going on sale in September, 2013, the 2014 Toyota Tundra will be offered in 5 grades – SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum and the all-new “1794 Edition”. The new “1794 Edition” is a tribute to the ranch in San Antonio, founded in the year 1794, on which the Tundra plant is located.
The Toyota Tundra SR and SR5 grades ride on 18-inch steel wheels, whereas the Toyota Tundra Limited, Platinum and 1794 Edition ride on all-new 20-inch alloy wheels designed for each grade.
