2014 Nissan GT-R Adds New “Track Edition” to U.S. Lineup

Nissan introduced a new “Track Edition” GT-R at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.  With this new model, the 2014 GT-R lineup will consist of three models overall, the Premium, Black Edition and the new Track Edition.

According to Nissan, the idea behind the Track Edition is to turn the street supercar into a pure motorsports competition machine, and because of that, the 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Edition is equipped with some high performance tuning parts including a tuned stiffer suspension, special brake cooling, front spoiler with carbon fiber air ducts.

Exterior, the Track Edition features a handmade, lightweight dry carbon fiber rear spoiler, which helps increase downforce.  Interior, the front seats have been replaced with special blue-trimmed high-grip seats. The back seats have been removed and replaced with lightweight quilted cloth mat.

The 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Edition rides on lightweight six-spoke metallic black RAYS forged wheels.  It gets the power from the same GT-R’s standard V6 engine producing 545 horsepower and 463 lb-ft of torque.

Going on sale in May, the 2014 GT-R Track Edition will be offered limited to 150 units in five exterior colors – Deep Blue Pearl, Jet Black, Solid Red, Gun Metallic and Pearl White.
