All-New 2014 Mazda6 – First Mazda Vehicle to Earn IIHS Top Safety Pick+

Press Release : 2014 Mazda6 Earned Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS

Mazda announced that its all-new 2014 Mazda6 has earned the Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).  With this achievement, the 2014 Mazda6 becomes the first Mazda vehicle to earn this new and tougher recognition from IIHS.

According to IIHS, to earn Top Safety Pick+ vehicles must earn good ratings in at least 4 0f 5 tests and no less than acceptable in the 5th test. The five tests include Moderate Overlap Front Test, Small Overlap Front Test, Side Test, Rollover Test, and Rear Test.

The all-new Mazda6 received good grades on Moderate Overlap Front, Side, Rollover and Rear crash protection/head restraint tests.  It got an “Acceptable” rating on the new Small Overlap test.
