Press Release : 2013 Honda Fit EV Rated by the EPA at 118 MPGe

Honda today announced that its 2013 Fit EV, globally debuted at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, has received the mile-per-gallon-equivalency (MPGe) rating from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of 132 city/105 highway/118 combined MPG equivalency, which is a highest rating among all the current electric vehicles on the market.  The result is calculated basing on an unmatched low utilization score of just 29 kWh per 100 miles which translates to the annual fuel cost of about $500.

The 2013 Honda Fit EV is powered by a 20 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 92 kilowatt coaxial electric motor producing 123 horsepower and 188 lb.-ft of torque, which offers an EPA city and highway estimated driving range rating of 82-miles.  Furthermore, when the low charge indicator is illuminated, it takes only less than 3 hours to recharge the battery from connecting to a 240-volt circuit.

Expected to be available for leasing in the summer of 2012 in selected California and Oregon market with one available exclusive color, Reflection Blue Pearl, the 2013 Honda Fit EV (Electric Vehicle) will be offered with three-year $389/month lease.

See “Press Release” for Comparison between Honda Fit EV and other current Electric Vehicles on the market.
