Press Release 1: 2012 Nissan LEAF: At a Glance
Press Release 2: 2012 Nissan LEAF: Overview

Entering its second year of production, the 2012 Nissan LEAF has no changes from the previous model year except for some enhancements including the addition of a standard battery heater, heated steering wheel, heated seats for front and rear, heated outside mirrors and rear HVAC duct on all models.  Also, a Quick Charge Port is now standard on the LEAF SL.

For 2012, the Nissan LEAF is available in two well-equipped models, the LEAF SV and LEAF SL.  The Nissan LEAF SL model includes auto on/off headlights, cargo cover, fog lights, HomeLink® Universal Transceiver, photovoltaic solar panel spoiler, Quick Charge Port and RearView Monitor.

It takes approximately seven hours to fully charge the LEAF at home through a 220V outlet.  When equipped with the Quick Charge Port (SL models), the LEAF can be charged to 80% capacity in 30 minutes at public charging stations.

Comfortably seating five passengers and having a traveling range of 100 miles on a full charge, the 2012 Nissan LEAF remains best-in-class for fuel efficiency and for the environment.  Its fuel efficiency is rated at 106 mpg city, 92 mpg highway and 99 mpg combined.  Being a 100% electronic vehicle, the Nissan LEAF produces 107 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque.

Having been available to selected markets in the U.S for little over a year, the Nissan LEAF has won many awards including “2011 World Car of the Year”, “2011 European Car of the Year” and Car of the Year Japan 2011-2012 to name a few. It also earned NCAP 5-star overall vehicle rating for safety. Recently, the Nissan LEAF’s availability was expanded to new market in the U.S and projected to be available to all 50 states by March, 2012.
