Mazda Announced Details, Prices and Release Date for 2012 MX-5 Miata Special Edition

Mazda unveiled the 2012 MX-5 Miata Special Edition at the Chicago Auto Show. Limited to only 450 units in the U.S, the 2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition has the starting price at $31,225 for the manual transmission and $31,675 for the 6-speed automatic transmission. Mazda also mentioned the approximate release date for this car to be sometime at the end of February. It will be available in two exclusive colors – Velocity Red and Crystal White Pearl.
Equipped with both the Premium and Suspension packages as standard, the MX-5 Special Edition rides on 17-inch Black Gunmetal aluminum alloy wheels.
On the inside, the 2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition features supple black leather upholstery with gray stitching on the heated seats, door trim, steering wheel and parking brake. Steering wheel spokes and dash are covered with Piano black panels.
The MX-5 Special Edition is powered by 2.0-liter 4-cyl engine, which generates 140 lb-ft of torque and 167-horsepower for the manual transmission and 158-horsepower for the 6-speed automatic transmission.
