2008 Honda Accord to get over 60mpg

Sources reported that Honda has no plans to introduce a hybrid variant for the next generation Honda Accord when it goes on sale next year. Instead it will replace the current hybrid with a clean diesel engine, the 2.2 liter i-CTDi. Honda claims that the engine is capable of generating a fuel economy of over 60mpg.
Honda recently showed off an Accord with the 2.2 liter i-CTDi engine at a diesel technology convention in California, where it claimed the car was capable of getting a fuel economy of 62.8mpg.
Honda will replace the slow selling Accord Hybrid in the US with the clean diesel varaint.
We have hint of what the Accord Coupe will look like since we’ve seen the 2008 Honda Accord Coupe Concept . The 2008 Honda Accord Sedan will look much like the current European version (pictured above) which is influenced the Acura TSX.
